Collaboration on documentary content for one of the leading Czech YouTube channels in the field. From initial research through video structure to a complete script.
Bige is a Czech YouTuber focused on documentary videos, not only from the world of influencers. The channel regularly publishes long-form content where every video requires hours of research and script writing.
During the collaboration I was in charge of scriptwriting, from the first keyword to the final draft ready to hand over to the author.
Every video started from a topic assigned by the author. I then took over the whole process. I gathered sources, verified facts and built the narrative through storytelling, which is key to keeping viewers hooked on documentary content. I wrote the script word by word, tailored to the channel's style and the audience's expectations, with an emphasis on building tension, emotional elements and surprising twists. In marketing terms, this helps increase watch time and engagement.
Every script was proofread by a more experienced team member or the channel owner. The final content was always the channel's own output. My role was preparing the script, not the finished product.
Research provides the facts. Storytelling turns them into a story that keeps the viewer watching until the end. I realized this while writing. Correct data alone isn't enough. The key is to build tension, slow down at the right moment and surprise.
Writing for someone else's voice adds complexity. The story has to work but stay authentic to the channel. This experience taught me to separate my own ego from the result. It's a skill that is useful in any creative work.
